Getting started

Book a face-to-face consultation online, by phone on +44 161 948 5066, or via WhatsApp. A GPhC-registered pharmacist assesses your suitability in person, explains your options, and if treatment is appropriate, starts you on a plan with a monthly review built in.

No. You can book directly with us. With your consent we may share information with your GP for safety, but a GP referral is not required to be assessed.

We are a single pharmacy located at Altrincham Travel Vaccination Centre, 250 Stockport Rd, Timperley, Altrincham WA15 7UN. We do not have other branches — all care is delivered here, in person.

We usually offer a first face-to-face consultation within a few days. Contact us by phone or WhatsApp for the next available appointment.

We're a weight-loss pharmacy in Timperley, Altrincham, and we see patients from right across Greater Manchester — including Sale, Hale, Hale Barns, Wythenshawe, Stretford, Brooklands and the wider Trafford area. All care is delivered face-to-face at our Timperley pharmacy.

We're a GPhC-registered pharmacy that runs a dedicated weight-loss service — what many people search for as a 'weight loss clinic near me'. The difference is that your care is pharmacist-led and delivered in person, locally in Timperley, with a review every month.

Appointments & reviews

Yes. We believe in personalised, in-person care. Your consultation and your ongoing reviews take place face-to-face at our Timperley pharmacy with a GPhC-registered pharmacist.

We see every patient in person at least once a month. These monthly reviews let us check your progress, manage any side effects, adjust your dose safely, and keep your treatment on track.

Your pharmacist checks your weight and progress, reviews how you're tolerating the medication, discusses any side effects, confirms the right next dose, and answers your questions before supplying your next month of treatment.

Bring a list of any medicines you take, details of relevant medical conditions, and ideally a recent weight and height so we can calculate your BMI. Photo ID is helpful for identity checks.

Medication

We offer medically supervised, prescription weight-loss treatment for eligible patients, alongside diet and lifestyle support. The specific medicine that's right for you is discussed privately during your consultation — UK rules prevent pharmacies from advertising prescription-only medicines by name.

Yes. Every medicine we use is licensed and regulated for UK use by the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency). We don't use the US term 'FDA-approved'.

It depends on the medicine your pharmacist recommends — some weight-loss treatments are taken weekly and others daily. We show you exactly how to use your treatment safely and answer any questions in person.

Common side effects can include nausea, constipation or diarrhoea, and reduced appetite — usually mild and improving over time. Treatment is increased gradually to limit side effects, and your monthly review is there to manage anything you experience.

Treatment usually starts at a low dose and is increased gradually, based on how you respond. Your pharmacist confirms each step at your face-to-face monthly review.

Eligibility & safety

Eligibility usually depends on your BMI and any weight-related health conditions. As a general guide, treatment may be suitable for a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition. A pharmacist confirms your suitability at your face-to-face assessment.

They are not suitable in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and may not be appropriate with certain medical histories. Your pharmacist reviews your health and medicines first to make sure treatment is safe for you.

These are MHRA-licensed medicines supplied by a GPhC-registered pharmacy after an in-person suitability assessment, with monthly reviews to monitor your progress and safety. We only supply treatment when it is appropriate for you.

Yes — you can check your BMI on our site to see whether treatment may be relevant. A BMI figure is only a starting point; your pharmacist makes the final suitability decision at your appointment.

As a general private guide, treatment may be suitable with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above if you have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or type 2 diabetes. Your pharmacist makes the final decision at your face-to-face assessment.

Yes. For people of South Asian, Chinese, Black African or African-Caribbean family background, BMI thresholds are usually lowered by around 2.5 points, because weight-related health risks can occur at a lower BMI. Your pharmacist takes this into account when assessing you.

No — weight-loss treatment isn't suitable during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or if you're trying to become pregnant. Please tell your pharmacist so we can advise you safely.

Travel & lifestyle

There's no specific known interaction between weight-loss treatment and aesthetic procedures such as Botox or microneedling, but always tell the practitioner carrying out the procedure that you're on weight-loss treatment, and check with your pharmacist first. Keep in mind that rapid weight loss can change facial volume and skin, so some people prefer to wait until their weight has stabilised before having facial aesthetic work.

Plan ahead and always carry your treatment in your hand luggage, never in checked baggage. If your treatment needs to be kept cool, transport it in an insulated travel cooling pack — we sell these at the pharmacy — and keep it out of direct sunlight and away from hot cars. Bring a copy of your prescription or a short letter from us for airport security, and speak to us before you travel so we can help you plan your doses around your trip.

Yes. We stock insulated travel cooling packs and wallets designed to keep temperature-sensitive treatment at the right temperature while you're on the go or away on holiday. Ask a member of the team at the pharmacy, or mention it at your next monthly review.

Most refrigerated weight-loss treatments should be stored in the fridge at 2–8°C, kept in their original packaging and out of direct light. Don't let your treatment freeze — if it freezes, don't use it. Always follow the storage instructions in your patient information leaflet, and ask your pharmacist if you're unsure.

It depends on the specific medicine. Many refrigerated weight-loss treatments can be kept at room temperature (below 30°C) for a limited period — for some, up to around three to four weeks — but you must follow the exact time stated in your patient information leaflet. If your treatment has been left somewhere hot, has frozen, or has been out longer than allowed, don't use it — speak to us first. A travel cooling pack helps keep it within range when you're away from home.

Usually yes, provided it hasn't gone over the total time and temperature limits in your patient leaflet. Once it has reached the maximum time allowed at room temperature, don't return it to the fridge — use it or dispose of it as instructed. If you're not sure how long it's been out, check with your pharmacist before using it.

Your weight-loss treatment is designed to deliver a set number of doses. Once you've used all the doses it's licensed to give, don't try to use any liquid that appears left over — this is overfill, not a usable dose, and using it could give you the wrong amount. Bring used treatment back to the pharmacy for safe disposal, or use a sharps bin, and never share your treatment with anyone else.

Pricing

Pricing depends on the medicine and dose, and is confirmed at your consultation. There are no hidden fees — your pharmacist explains the full cost before you start, and your monthly reviews are included.

Yes. Your face-to-face monthly review with the pharmacist is part of your treatment — we don't charge extra to monitor your progress and keep you safe.

We are a private pharmacy service. We can advise on NHS routes where relevant, but treatment with us is self-funded and starts faster than typical NHS waiting times.

NHS weight-management services exist but usually have stricter criteria (often a BMI of 35 or above, or 30 or above with a condition) and waiting times that can run to many months. As a private pharmacy, we can usually assess and, if suitable, start eligible patients within a few days. We're happy to explain both routes.

Many weight-loss services are entirely online, with questionnaires and posted treatment.
